I am curious what's going to happen to some of them, but not really enough to read the second book.more So I wanted to love it, but I didn't feel caught up in any of the characters' emotions, and it didn't pull me in. Lots of potential in this unlikely scenario, including the fact that most of the women instantly pair up with rich, handsome bachelors.

I'm no psychiatrist but I'm pretty sure this is unlikely, and Carolyn Brown's repetitive and simple dialogue is a little tiring. Emma, now strong, pretty much kidnaps her to go camping, where Sophie recovers instantly. The two of them fall in love right as Sophie comes down with a case of deep depression. Within a couple weeks, Emma is pretty much cured and having romantic feelings for the introverted rich guy who owns the trailer park. The two girls flee to Sophie's vacation hideaway, a cute trailer park in rural Texas. Sophie springs Emma (who at 30 is there "voluntarily" due to a lifetime of her mother's near-criminal level of psychological abuse her mother pressured her to commit herself). But then her dear childhood friend, Sophie, arrives, surprising her after a decade apart. That's intriguing, and quite deep for a romance. She has a sign on her door saying "Females Only." She has made no progress on remembering what traumatized her so badly that she is practically nonverbal.
